Taiji Party

My friend Sarah lives in China and teaches English whilst spending a great deal of time training in Chenjiagou. I love hearing about her Taiji adventures!

Since the autumn my taiji school has resembled a building site while the new extension has been under construction. Finally, the bulk of the work is completed and the new extension is open for business. It doubles the number of students who can stay, and the rooms are comparatively plush with shiny furniture and wall-mounted flat-screen TVs (yeah, really!). There’s also a huge new kitchen and dining room attached to the main building which means that we don’t have to troop down the road to eat at Shifu’s old house.

To celebrate the opening, on the 24th June there was a special lunch, and on the following two days Shifu taught a Lao Jia Yi Lu class. I arrived about an hour before lunch.
